What the difference? Is it true arc is like a spark feeder and electricity more than an open flame

    They both use electricity. Yes stick welding or SMAW produces more sparks while TIG or GTAW does not. TIG welding is used for both ferrous and non ferrous metals. You can weld steel, stainless, aluminum, inconel, cobalt titanium. with stick your can do steel and stainless. they also make aluminum stick rods. TIG produces cleaner welds. and you can weld thinner metal.
