I'm 19 years old, no experience in welding whats so ever, but I think it'll be a good career in the future.

That depends. I think welding takes a certain type of person. Some people enjoy doing it, other people don't seem to. The best way to find out is to take a welding class at a local trade school or community college. If you find it's something you enjoy and find it interesting, you should definitely get into it. Also, welding is a trade skill, it's manual labor, so you have to enjoy working with your hands, and getting dirty. It gets hot and dirty and requires you to work in uncomfortable positions some times. You also need the kind of attitude where you take safety seriously. People who want to cut corners and not make safety their first concern, are going to get hurt. That said, there will always be a demand for welders, and there will always be jobs out there, as well as some very good ones. The only time I have ever had trouble finding a job as a welder was when I was just starting out as a "newbie" welder. back when I had no experience and just took three welding classes in college. Once you have two or three years job experience you can almost pick and choose where you want to work. Hope this helps. you'll never know if you don't try.
