    I think you missing some information. when referring to a code in the welding industry, it is usually some specification that governs the welding processes, techniques, materials, etc. E-7010 is more of an idenifcation of the welding electrode. The welding code you may be working to would actually call it a classification. All 7010 electrodes are the same. some will have suffixes at the end such as the "G" you are asking about. All it means is there was something extra added to the flux to help in arc characterisics or wetability. All 7010 electrode will have the same mechanical and chemical properties.
