    AC current will 'hold you' and DC current will throw you clear if shocked. Don't touch anyone if you witness them being shocked - kick them clear in a karate style or use a broom, something that won't conduct. In any event, AC or DC, a unit that can shock you is extremely dangerous and should be unplugged and the leads cut off.
