Tungsten can put deep scratches in just about anything and is a pretty dense metal. So how effective would a tungsten sword be?

    Terrible Tungsten is very very heavy. You would not want to carry or swing such a weapon. It would also slow you down in action since you have to accelerate the mass in order to strike anything. Also, tungsten, especially tungsten carbide (which, I think, is what you are actually referring to), is brittle. A sword made of tungsten carbide would probably break the first time it was used
