tungsten carbide is pretty much the hardest stuff that's readily available, but you can't have everything. you get generally get 2 out of the 3: hardest, toughest and corrosion resistant. the hardest metals are generally fairly brittle and still subject to corrosion issues. ceramics are even harder and resistant to corrosion, but they're even more brittle.
