Carbide tipped blades can be used on nearly any material, even aluminum. These are carborundum tips, brazed onto a steel blade body. The have high heat resistance; maintain sharpness and last 4-5 times longer than steel blades. All steel blades (perhaps 'high carbon'?) are generally inferior for any kind of work; and warp or loose sharpness in no time flat. Imported junk will often have poor syntax in the label description which may be what you are seeing with "carbon tipped". They are also inferior in every respect. Buy American when possible. Spend the extra money and get a blade worth a dam.
