I'm thinking of welding since I found a little place offering classes, transportation, job placement and etc, to people who qualify. I've been out of work for a while and i'm a young kid in an area with a very bad economy around ~20% unemployment rate.

Anyway, in my spare time, I like to smoke the herb, I don't smoke on the job and I hate being high at work anyway so those of you who think i'm gonna be like some drunk on the job moron, step off, it's not like that. Anyway, I haven't smoked for a good year now while job searching, so i'm fully sober and can pass an initial piss test.Learn to weld! If you try to get hired, expect to be drug tested. You can always do welding on your own. There is always a need of welders who can bring their equipment and abilities to their location.

What i'm afraid of is random drug tests. The last job I was studying for was concrete inspector (non-dangerous work, at least unless you're trying to hurt yourself...) until I found out the company does mandatory random drug tests. And the herb has such a positive effect on my life (and i'm a year sober so no i'm not just thinking it) there is no way i'm gonna never smoke it again in fear of risking my job.

So do welding jobs require random drug tests?
