3. It is important to understand the linear expansion coefficient of tungsten steel, which is more than twice lower than that of high-speed steel. In the inlay welding of tungsten steel and high-speed steel, due to the difference in linear expansion coefficient between tungsten steel and high-speed steel, when the inlay-welded mold is cooled, the stresses on the inner and outer layers are different, forming inward tensile stress on the surface. After inlay welding, measures should be taken to eliminate stress, otherwise the tungsten steel will crack or desolder.
