Cemented carbide has the characteristics of high hardness and wear resistance, but its relative toughness is not high. It is necessary to be cautious during processing, transportation and use to avoid unnecessary losses. Wuxi Kairun will take you to understand the problems that are prone to occur in the production and processing of cemented carbide.

1. Carbide wire cutting

Cemented carbide is prone to cracks during online cutting. Therefore, it is an important step to carefully confirm that there are no cracks on the surface of the product after processing to prevent it from affecting the next process, reducing production efficiency and increasing costs.

2. Carbide melting (welding) processing

Scattered material (welding iron) produced during welding of cemented carbide is easy to adhere to the cemented carbide. Cooling after rapid heating can easily lead to cracking of the alloy. Therefore, you need to pay special attention when welding and make sure that the processing surface is not damaged. Proceed to the next process.

3. Carbide cutting, grinding production and processing

The cemented carbide must be completely fixed on the workbench before processing to prevent cracking and chipping under impact and excessive processing loads. Because the magnetic properties of cemented carbide are very low or even non-magnetic, magnets cannot be used when fixing, and fixtures should be used for fixing.
