In order to improve the service life of cemented carbide wire drawing dies, the following points should be paid attention to in the selection and use process:


1. Choose mold grades reasonably


According to the physical and mechanical properties of the material and the size of the material, choose the mold grade reasonably. For example, if the tensile diameter is less than 20mm, choose YG6 or YG8 for non-ferrous metal wire or bar; choose YG8 for 20-50mm; choose YG11, YG15 for 50mm or more.

6. Choose a reasonable compression rate


A reasonable compression rate should be selected according to the size and performance of the wire to be drawn. If the compression rate is too small, the production cost will be too high; if the compression rate is too large, the service life of the mold will be reduced, or even the mold will be exploded.


7, pay attention to control the surface condition of metal materials


During the drawing process, if metal particles are found adhered to the inner hole of the mold, and the metal surface is scratched, the machine should be shut down immediately to remove the adhered metal particles and polish the inner hole of the mold. The metal particles adhering to the inner hole must be carefully cleaned after each use.
