       According to the International Molybdenum Association (IMOA), the global molybdenum production in the first quarter of 2019 was 62,550 tons, which was unchanged from last year (the first quarter of 2018), down 12% from the last quarter (the fourth quarter of 2018).
Among them, China's molybdenum production accounts for nearly 40% of the global output, and is still the largest molybdenum producer in the world. In the first quarter, China's molybdenum output was 23360 tons, 11% higher than that of the previous quarter, and 13% lower than that of the previous quarter.
South America accounts for 30% of global output, ranking second. Molybdenum production in South America in the first quarter was 19640 tons, 10% less than that in the previous quarter, and 15% less than that in the previous quarter.
North America's molybdenum production in the first quarter was 15150 tons, an increase of 1% and a decrease of 9%.
Other countries' molybdenum production in the first quarter was 4400 tons, down 4% from the same period last year, and the ring ratio remained stable.

China's molybdenum consumption in the first quarter was 20185 tons, 18% lower than the same period last year, and 6% lower than the previous quarter.
Europe accounts for 27% of global consumption, ranking second. Molybdenum consumption in Europe in the first quarter was 16,919 tons, up 2% year-on-year and 5% year-on-year.
Japan's molybdenum consumption in the first quarter was 6214 tons, 2% less than that of the previous quarter, and 1% higher than that of the previous quarter.
In the first quarter, the consumption of molybdenum in the United States was 6123 tons, 9% less than that in the previous quarter, and 10% less than that in the previous quarter.
In the first quarter, the consumption of molybdenum in CIS countries increased by 9% and 7% year-on-year, with the largest increase.
The consumption of molybdenum in other countries in the first quarter was 9,934 tons, 1% less than that in the previous quarter, and 2% more than that in the previous quarter.
