With the development of the economy, thermal spraying technology has been widely used in various industries, and plays an important role in the repair and strengthening of metal surfaces. So, what are the commonly used thermal spraying materials?

1. Self-fluxing powder: After adding strong deoxidizing elements B and Si to iron, cobalt and nickel-based alloys, it becomes a low melting point metal that can deoxidize and form slag by itself. Its main features are: self-melting, low melting point, wettability, good solid-state fluidity.

2. Ceramic material: It has the characteristics of high hardness, high melting point, good thermal stability and chemical properties. When used as a coating, it can effectively improve the wear resistance, high temperature resistance or corrosion resistance of the base material.

3. Mixed powder: Mixed powder is made by mixing metal powder and ceramic powder in a certain proportion. Ceramic powder has high hardness and good high temperature performance, but relatively poor toughness; metal powder has low hardness and poor high temperature performance, but good toughness. Mixing the two can better combine its advantages, avoid its weaknesses and improve the use effect.

The most commonly used metal coating materials are:

1. Iron-based alloys: mainly include low carbon steel materials, high carbon steel materials, and stainless steel materials. The coating formed by arc spraying or flame spraying has wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and has a significant effect on surface repair and strengthening.

2. Nickel-based alloys: There are mainly nickel-chromium alloys, nickel-copper alloys, etc. The coatings formed by thermal spraying technology have the properties of heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and high temperature oxidation resistance.

3. Zinc-aluminum alloy: The coating formed by zinc-aluminum alloy thermal spraying technology has functions such as environmental corrosion resistance and electromagnetic shielding. At present, most of outdoor steel structures, tanks, wind power flanges, etc. are thermally sprayed and repaired with zinc-aluminum alloy materials.

4. Other metal materials: such as tin-based babbitt alloy, lead-based bus alloy, molybdenum, tungsten, etc., can be used to prepare sliding bearing coatings, wear-resistant and ablation-resistant coatings in the form of flame spraying.
