Any tips or anything on welding?

Im in welding tech class at school right now and i know how to grind and weld and everything but are there any tips or anything on welding? Like whats the diffrence between arc welding and stick welding and stuff?? I wanna practice a lot and get good over time and maybe do a career working on a pipeline or in a shop

Well Joe Arc welding and stick welding are the same. their are many types of welding but the most common are Arc/Stick TIG (tungsten inert gas) and MIG (metal inert gas). Tig and Mig use a shield gas to shield the weld and help remove the impurities from the weld puddle. most shield gas is Argon or a Argon and Co2 mix. their is a lot of things to cover in welding but the most important is prep work and lots and lots of practice. the prep work is more important that the welding. you may be a great welder but lack of prep will cause lots of issues that will affect your welds.
