CVD diamond has the advantages of single crystal diamond and polycrystalline diamond (PCD). First of all, CVD diamond contains no metal binder and has the lowest impurity content, so its hardness and thermal conductivity are higher than PCD, the friction coefficient is small, and the chemical and thermal stability are better. Secondly, CVD diamond is a polycrystalline material, which overcomes the inherent anisotropy and easy cleavage of single diamond. In addition, since diamond can be deposited on a substrate of any shape, it is possible to manufacture diamond tools of various complicated shapes such as a drill bit, an end mill force, a blade with a chip breaker, and the like.
