Welding Certification near DFW TX?

My nephew wants a welding certification and he lives in North Dallas, TX. I see Lincoln College, ATI and possibly Local 263 (Iron workers) offer a program. Anyone else in DFW area offer a welding certification? The certification takes about 12 months, correct?

Welding Certification is a test, not a program. Actually, there are dozens of possible welding "Certs". Each certification is good only for a specific length of time. Best to learn welding both in school and on the job — though for some unknown reason welding is not offered as an apprenticeship in most jurisdictions. A quickie course leading to certification might be completed in six months or a year, but someone really interested in welding might go as far as a 4yr degree in Welding Technology.
