Using JB Weld SteelStick in a Grill?

1 answer Reward0 Remaining Time 0 Day

I need to weld two caps of the burner in my gas grill. But I dont have the equipment or money to weld them. I have a stick of JB Weld SteelStick. Ive used it before and it does the job on other metallic objects. Will it be safe to use that on my gas burner? Will it affect my health or the taste of food if it burns or if its near the flames? Is it safe?

You could take them to a welding shop and get them welded or brazed for 15$-25$ max. Small spot repair like that would take a professional only 10-15 minutes. Epoxy glues like JB produce toxic fumes when they burn, (like most glues and plastics.) I believe it says right on the package "not for high-temperature use." More importantly, after it burned and charred, far from fixing your problem you would have simply created a bigger mess.
