first thaks for all of your answers.... i am useing a 1/8 rod on 1/4 and 1 inches mount... the vertical weld is kicking my rear...pool of slag dripping ugly weld no penitration.....what and how can i do i right....please detailed thanks....

work from the bottom to the top using a C type welding pattern, angle the rod about 30* up so the holder is low and the rod is tilted up. try to weld slowly, using probably the 125 setting. then chip the slag and touch up the spots that need more.
