How to weld root pass downhill?

1st. Root 2nd hotpass..and than what??? 7018????
Is it alright to do the root pass and hot pass downhill and do the fill and cover uphill with 7018? Or do I have to do the fillers with 6010 also?? Plz explain I'm so confuse.

The weld proceedure should spell out the correct welding rod and the weld direction. The procedure we used most of the time was 6010 stringer downhill with all other passed 7018 uphill.
