Precautions or the use o tungsten powder
1. Tungsten dust can cause bronchitis, bronchiolitis, bronchiolitis obliterans and atrophic emphysema.
2. Tungsten carbide will cause the prolierative reaction o the lymphoid tissue cells o the lungs, and gradually harden. The blood vessel wall is thickened and homogenized.
3. People exposed to tungsten carbide dust at work have gastrointestinal dysunction, kidney irritation, and catarrhal inlammation o the upper respiratory tract.
4. The maximum allowable concentration o tungsten carbide is 6mg/m3. In the United States, the maximum allowable concentration o soluble tungsten compounds (calculated as tungsten) is 1mg/m3, and the maximum allowable concentration o insoluble tungsten compounds (calculated as tungsten) is 5mg/m3.
5. Use gas masks, dust-proo clothing, gloves, and glasses that meet the requirements. Prevent dust leakage at all stages o production.
6. Workers need to have physical examinations beore employment, and they should be checked regularly once a year.
7. When the upper respiratory tract has obvious symptoms, it is necessary to temporarily mobilize work and get out o contact with tungsten.
