Laser surface treatment technology and its progress

       The emergence of the laser was a major advance in modern physics. The first laser came out in the early 1960s. The research on the laser surface heat treatment process started shortly after the laser was born, but it was not used in heat treatment production until the late 1960s and early 1970s.

        The success of laser in the heat treatment of metals indicates that the application of this technology has entered a new stage. With the successful development and continuous improvement of high-power lasers, this new process is used in the production line of automotive steering gear surface treatment [1]. After the joint research of the "Sixth Five-Year Plan" in China, the surface heat treatment of cylinder liners and other parts has been successful, and a number of scientific research results have been achieved. The subsequent development of surface coating (cladding), surface glazing (Glazing) and surface alloying (SurfaeeAlloing) and other processes [2] have also made considerable progress. Compared with the above process, laser surface heat treatment is currently a relatively mature and widely used process.
