Thermal spraying is a metal surface
processing method in which the molten spraying material is atomized and sprayed
on the surface of parts through high-speed air flow to form a spraying layer.
We call the special working surface "coating" and the working method
of manufacturing coating "thermal spraying", which is the general
name of spraying and spray welding with various heat sources.

Thermal spraying is a surface strengthening
technology and an important part of surface engineering technology. Thermal
spraying technology is a technology that uses a certain heat source (such as
arc, plasma spraying or combustion flame) to heat powdered or filamentous metal
or non-metallic materials to the molten or semi molten state, and then spray
them to the pretreated substrate surface at a certain speed with the help of
flame retention itself or compressed air to deposit and form surface coatings
with various functions.

Thermal spraying refers to a series of
processes in which fine and dispersed metallic or non-metallic coating
materials are deposited on a prepared substrate surface in a molten or semi
molten state to form a spraying deposition layer. The coating material can be
powder, strip, filament or rod. The thermal spraying gun provides necessary
heat by fuel gas, arc or plasma arc to heat the thermal spraying material to
plastic or molten state, and then subject to the acceleration of compressed air
to impact the constrained particle beam on the substrate surface. The particles
impacting the surface deform due to stamping, form laminated sheets, adhere to
the prepared substrate surface, cool and accumulate continuously, and finally
form a layered coating. Due to different coating materials, the coating can
realize the functions of high temperature corrosion resistance, wear
resistance, heat insulation and electromagnetic wave resistance.

Spraying powder occupies a very important
position in the whole thermal spraying material. Thermal spraying alloy powder
includes nickel base, iron base and cobalt base alloy powder, which are applied
to the repair and protection of mechanical parts according to different coating
hardness.
