Wococarbide provides powders of various
hardness. When customers buy powder according to their own needs, they still
feed back that the hardness is insufficient. So, we need to understand how
customers test. For example: the customer uses a hammer to hit the coating, and
then the coating will sag. The customer said, "is the hardness of your
coating bad. I can't deform with hardened steel. The coating is knocked into
the groove, which means it's not hard enough. "

An important feature of thermal spraying is
that they are very brittle. When we communicate with customers, we will remind
customers that "the coating is not impact resistant". The coating is
more suitable for friction and wear resistance, but it is accompanied by impact
and corrosion when friction and wear occur. Therefore, we need to carefully
consider whether to use the spraying process. Because impact will damage the
coating, however, corrosion will erode the whole coating and the substrate of
the product from the damaged position. Hammering and deforming the coating
cannot prove any problem.

Here I give a very simple example: we can
break one chopstick by hand, but due to different strength, we can't break 10
chopsticks at the same time. Most of the coatings we spray are only about
0.2mm. What if the spraying thickness is 10mm? The author once sprayed the
thickest coating to 32mm, which is very hard, but even with such a thick
coating, its brittleness has not changed, and it will still break when
subjected to strong impact.
