       Due to the corrosiveness of the internal medium of chemical equipment in production and use, in order to ensure the safe operation of the equipment and extend the service life of the equipment, an anti-corrosion layer can be lined inside it, and the cost of the equipment can be reduced. However, due to the characteristics and manufacturing shortcomings of equipment lining materials, the lining usually appears partially damaged during the reasonable service life of the equipment. Using a certain repair method to repair the damaged part can extend the overall service life of the equipment and achieve the purpose of economy. The following will take the repair of rubber fabric equipment as an example to introduce the repair method of chemical equipment fabric.

Repair of rubber fabric equipment: Rubber has good mechanical and physical functions and corrosion resistance. It can be used as a fabric for metal equipment to isolate the corrosive medium from the metal surface and play an anti-corrosion role. Rubber fabric equipment is widely used in chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, non-ferrous metallurgy and food industry.

Repair with FRP lining: Now this method is more common and has a more obvious effect, and the FRP lining is carried out by hand paste method. Epoxy is used for both the primer coating and the underlying cloth, which means that the adhesive is lined with three layers, because epoxy resin has strong adhesion to rubber and metal. The surface layer selects adhesives such as phenolic, epoxy, furan or polyester resin according to the characteristics of the corrosive medium, and pastes more than three layers. Note that the glass cloth is gradually overlapped with the rubber lining. After reaching the cold curing, the infrared lamp can be partially heated to accelerate the curing.

Repair with rubber sheet with the same trademark as the original fabric layer: when it is required that the old rubber layer must be of the same material, use the original rubber sheet for repair. The operation process is the same as the fabric process. Brush the glue three times on the defective parts of the equipment, brush the glue twice for the selected rubber plate, and then lining it, compact it with a hot soldering iron, and vulcanize it after the lining. During vulcanization, the maximum steam pressure should be 0.05MPa lower than that of the original vulcanization. Although this repair method can obtain a lining with the same raw materials, because the two vulcanizations may be over-vulcanized in the inner layer of the original lining, which affects the service life, and the repair process is complicated at the same time, which is not suitable for on-site repair.

Repair with pre-vulcanized rubber sheet: select the pre-vulcanized butyl rubber sheet, first use an angle grinder to polish out the metallic glossy surface and the fresh rubber surface, clean it, and repair it with the pre-vulcanized rubber sheet. The hardness is large, so the corners should be polished into a larger arc transition. Corners should be ground into larger arc transitions.
