As a new practical engineering technology, there is no standard classification method, and it is generally classified according to the type of heat source, the shape of the spray material and the function of the coating. For example, according to the function of the coating, it can be divided into anti-corrosion, wear-resistant, thermal insulation and other coatings, and can be divided into spraying and spraying according to the heating and bonding methods: the former is that the body does not melt, and the coating forms a mechanical combination with the substrate; the latter is The coating is reheated and remelted, and the coating and the substrate dissolve and diffuse to form a metallurgical bond.

A classification method that usually has more contact is divided according to the type of heat source of the heating spray material. According to this, it can be divided into:

① Flames, including flame spraying, explosive spraying, and supersonic spraying;

②Arc type, including arc spraying and plasma spraying;

③Electrothermal method, including electric explosion spraying, induction heating spraying and capacitive discharge spraying;

④Laser: Laser spraying.
