current position:Information and data>Overview of thermal spraying technology
Overview
Thermal spraying technology is a new technology of material surface strengthening and protection, which occupies an important position in surface modification technology. This technology began in my country in the 1950s, and has formed a climate by the end of the 1970s. At present, the equipment, materials, technology, scientific research and other aspects are rapidly developing and improving, and it has become an important part of surface technology.
3.1.1 Thermal spraying and its classification
1. Thermal spray technology
The American Welding Society made the following new definition for thermal spraying in 1980: "fine various metal or non-metallic particles are deposited in a molten or semi-molten state to form a coating", obviously this definition is very incomplete.
It is generally believed that thermal spraying is to use a certain heat source, such as electric arc, plasma arc, combustion flame, etc. to heat powder or filamentary metal or non-metallic coating materials to a molten or semi-molten state, and then use the power of the flame itself or The additional high-speed airflow is atomized and sprayed onto the surface of the pretreated base material at a certain speed, and combined with the base material to form a surface covering coating with various functions, the basic process is shown in Figure 3.1.
