Pseudo-alloy coatings are mainly obtained using the arc spraying method. Under normal circumstances, arc spraying uses two wires of the same specification and composition to obtain the corresponding coating; if two wires of different compositions are used for spraying, a pseudo-alloy coating of the two materials is obtained. The structure of the pseudo-alloy coating is a mechanical mixture of the two materials, sometimes containing a small amount of the two alloys. The mechanical properties and chemical properties of the coating will have some characteristics of both. This combination is possible as long as the melting points of the two materials are not very different. Different combinations of materials can result in a wide variety of pseudo-alloy coatings. If the diameter and feeding speed of the two wires are the same, and a pseudo-alloy coating with a material volume ratio of 1:1 is obtained, their weight ratio is the ratio of their relative densities; when changing the wire diameter ratio or wire feeding speed ratio , a series of pseudo-alloy coatings with different material volume ratios or weight ratios will be obtained. Pseudo-alloy coatings can also be obtained by using two-metal cored wires (one metal is tubularly wrapped on the outer layer of the other metal wire), and the spraying method can also use wire flame spraying in addition to arc spraying. As an anti-corrosion coating, at present, the research and application of pseudo-alloys mainly focus on the combination of zinc-aluminum and zinc-aluminum-magnesium series.
