Plasma spray equipment differs from flame spray equipment in that they often use high voltages and currents, which are associated with electrical hazards. Before operators use the equipment, they must be trained in how to use the equipment safely. Below are some precautions for the operation of plasma spray equipment.

(1) When the protection program of the control cabinet fails, and the circulating cooling water or working gas cannot be detected, it is forbidden to start the arc when the water or gas is stopped.

(2) When installing the spray gun, special attention should be paid to ensure that the anode and cathode of the spray gun and the positive water cable and the negative water cable cannot be wrongly connected.

(3) After the spray gun is powered on, the voltage between the positive and negative electrodes is very high. Be careful not to short-circuit between the positive and negative electrodes caused by water condensed in the air, wet cloth or metal wires at the water cable joint of the spray gun. It is recommended to wrap the water cable connector with an insulating sleeve.

(4) After the spray gun is powered on, pay attention to the insulation between the human body and the spray gun. Operators must wear insulated shoes, insulated gloves and keep gloves dry when holding the gun.

(5) When installing the nozzle, the powder in the gun must be cleaned up.

(6) For the spray gun with internal powder feeding, when picking up the powder pipe, pay attention to the alignment of the powder feeding pipe joint and the powder feeding port on the nozzle. When striking the arc, the powder feeding gas path must be filled with air to prevent the powder feeding tube and joints from being burned.

(7) When starting the arc manually, add the secondary gas (H2, N2) slowly and steadily.

(8) Before use, check whether the various pipes on the spray gun are connected correctly.

(9) After the waterway is opened, check whether the spray gun is leaking.

(10) Check whether the gas pressure meets the requirements.

(11) Pay attention to check whether the nozzle is blocked.

(12) The spray gun should be kept after each use, and the connection ports should not be bumped. Guns should also be regularly inspected for cleaning and replacement parts to maintain good performance of the gun.

(13) If any abnormal phenomenon is encountered during spraying, it should be stopped immediately for inspection.

(4) Do not clean and disassemble any part of the power supply, control cabinet, or spray gun until the entire spraying system (including the power supply) has come to a complete stop.
