Blasting abrasives used in workshops or production can be recycled after cleaning and screening. Angular chilled iron grit and alumina are often subjected to this treatment and used repeatedly. When an abrasive is reapplied, it is cleaned of dust and sieved so that at least 80% of it meets the original particle size requirements. Contaminated abrasives or parts of questionable quality should not be returned to service. The broken fine sand should be removed from the abrasive in time, otherwise the normal combination of the coating and the substrate will be impaired.
On the production site or on the construction site, disposable abrasives can be used. It is not economical to recycle or reuse the abrasive in this situation.
