Why do surface pretreatment before spraying

       Since the combination of the thermal spray coating and the substrate is mainly physical and mechanical inlay, the bonding quality of the coating and the substrate is directly related to the cleanliness and roughness of the substrate surface. Therefore, the surface pretreatment (or surface Pretreatment) has become a very important part of the entire thermal spraying process. Substrate surface pretreatment is to use mechanical, physical or chemical methods to improve the surface state of the substrate and provide a good base surface for thermal spraying. The substrate surface pretreatment process mainly includes substrate surface preprocessing, surface purification treatment, surface roughening treatment and protection of non-sprayed surface.



     Strict adherence to the technical specifications of thermal spray technology is a prerequisite for the successful application of thermal spray coatings. In actual production, an appropriate surface pretreatment process should be selected according to the surface state of the actual parts. On the premise of ensuring the quality of the coating, a simplified surface pretreatment process should be adopted as much as possible to reduce the cost of spraying.
