How to use an acetylene generator

       (1) The fixed acetylene generator should be installed in a special acetylene station, and all fireworks should be prohibited in the station. In order to prevent the generator from generating static sparks and causing explosions, the stationary acetylene generator should have a reliable grounding wire. Other safety matters of fixed generators and acetylene stations shall be implemented in accordance with relevant regulations.



    (2) The mobile acetylene generator should not be less than 10m away from the open flame operation and spraying (welding) workplace. Smoking is prohibited near the acetylene generator to avoid explosion. Acetylene generators must not be placed under high-voltage lines.

    (3) When using the acetylene generator in the open air, it should be protected from sunlight exposure in summer and freezing in winter. When acetylene freezes, it should be thawed with hot water or steam, and fire is strictly prohibited.

    (4) If the parts of the acetylene generator are damaged, if they need to be repaired by themselves, they cannot be made of red copper, so as to avoid explosion caused by copper acetylene, copper alloys below 70% can be used.

    (5) When using the acetylene generator, the water temperature in the barrel should not exceed 800℃. If it exceeds, it can be cooled by water spray, and it can be used after cooling down.

    (6) When using the acetylene generator, the carbide slag should not be accumulated too much, otherwise the increase of the water temperature will cause an explosion, so the carbide slag should be removed in time, and the water should be kept clean frequently. The amount of calcium carbide added should be flexibly controlled according to the size and workload of the acetylene generator, but the amount added at one time cannot exceed the limit specified by the generator, and electric lime cannot be added to the generator to avoid accidents.

    (7) The acetylene generator should be checked frequently, and the water level in the flashback preventer must be kept at a safe standard position, not too high or too low.

    (8) On the eye-catching position of the acetylene generator, the words "fire prevention" and no smoking" should be marked in large characters.
