The light radiation generated during plasma spraying in thermal spraying is the most harmful to human body. The plasma arc not only has a high temperature, but also has a more intense arc than the general arc. The temperature of the plasma arc core is as high as 20000K~25000K, and the temperature of the flame flow is also above several thousand degrees. This high temperature flame flow is a strong light radiation source, and its intensity is 30 times to 60 times that of ordinary welding light. Its light radiation is mainly ultraviolet, visible rays and infrared rays. The short-wave ultraviolet radiation of plasma arc is strong, and when the wavelength is 260 mm~290 nm, it is about 3.6 times of the radiation intensity of manual arc welding. When the wavelength is 200nm ~233, it is about 95 times. The radiation intensity of infrared rays is also stronger than that of hand arc welding.

The more the plasma arc is compressed, the greater the current specification, the stronger the arc, and the greater the harm to the human body. The main hazards are as follows:

    1) Eye burns

Immediately after the eyes are exposed to the plasma arc, there will be burning, burning and flashing illusions. After several hours, severe itching, grit feeling, pain, conjunctival congestion, redness, tears, blurred vision and other symptoms, accompanied by headache, usually recover after a few days, and will not cause permanent sexual injury.

    2) Skin damage,

Ultraviolet rays in the arc have actinic effects on human tissues, and their effects are mainly to cause skin damage. After the exposed part of the human body is irradiated by arc light, even if the time is very short, there will be damage, usually redness first, and then peeling. It can cause dermatitis in some people. In addition, ultraviolet radiation is not only harmful to the human body, but also has a serious destructive effect on fibers, especially cotton fabrics. Due to photochemical action, the work clothes are oxidatively deteriorated and broken, losing their protective effect on human skin.
