Ultrasonic vibration turning is mainly to obtain low surface roughness, thereby improving the quality of the machined surface. When we determine the process parameters during processing, it is mainly based on the surface roughness.

     (1) Within a certain cutting speed (rotation speed) range, the cutting speed (rotation speed) has an optimum value. The surface roughness of the spray coating can be minimized. The main reason is determined by the smooth characteristics of the machine tool at all levels of speed transmission.

     (2) As the feed rate increases, the surface roughness increases and the surface quality decreases.

     (3) With the increase of cutting depth, the surface roughness increases and the surface quality decreases. The main reason is that the depth of cut has a great influence on the cutting force.

     (4) As the tool amplitude increases, the surface roughness value decreases and the surface quality improves. This is mainly because with the increase of the width, the vibration speed of the tool increases, which reduces the cutting force, and thus the surface roughness value decreases.

     (5) The surface roughness value of ultrasonic vibration turning is much smaller than that of ordinary turning, and its Ra value can reach 0.16 μm.
