       For the finishing of thermal spray coatings, grinding is usually used because it can achieve higher precision and better surface roughness. For the grinding of thermal spray coatings, synthetic diamond grinding wheels and cubic boron nitride grinding wheels are mostly used. At present, the comparative test data of using artificial diamond grinding wheel, green silicon carbide grinding wheel and white corundum grinding wheel to grind the outer circle of nickel thermal spray coating show that the performance of artificial diamond grinding wheel is far better than that of green silicon carbide and white corundum grinding wheel.



     The cubic boron nitride grinding wheel has higher grinding efficiency and better grinding performance from many actual processing examples and some comparisons with synthetic diamond grinding wheels. For example, grinding the outer circle of nickel-based spray coating (NiCrBSi+50%WC) with cubic boron nitride grinding wheel, the hardness is HRC76~78; grinding the outer circle of nickel-based spray coating (NiCrBSi+35%WC), the hardness is HRC65, its processing quality Both are better than diamond grinding wheels. Therefore, the cubic boron nitride grinding wheel is an ideal grinding wheel for grinding thermal spray coatings.
