Helium (He) is also a monatomic gas, and its ionization potential (24.5V) is much higher than other plasma spray gases. It has a high enthalpy value at high temperature. The viscosity of helium is also the highest among various plasmas, so adding a certain amount of helium to the plasma can effectively stabilize the arc. However, the high price of helium limits its application in industry.
