       (1) Nitrogen (N2) is a diatomic gas. It also has a high enthalpy value when used as a plasma gas. The test results of the GDP-80kW high-energy plasma spray gun show that under the same conditions, the enthalpy value of nitrogen is higher than that of argon. 1.5 to 2.2 times higher.

     (2) Nitrogen has a higher ionization potential (15.8V), which is comparable to argon (15.7V) and higher than that of hydrogen (13.6V). It absorbs a large amount of heat during the ionization process, so the utilization rate of heat is high.

     (3) Due to the convenient source and low price of nitrogen, it has become a more commonly used working gas in plasma spraying. In plasma spraying, nitrogen acts like hydrogen and is used to increase arc voltage and heat transfer to the powder.

However, due to the poor protective performance of nitrogen, it has certain oxidizing properties, so it is not suitable when spraying powders that are easily oxidized.
