Plasma spraying power supply composition and requirements

       The plasma spray power supply is used to supply DC power to the spray gun, usually a full-wave silicon rectifier. It is mainly composed of electrical components such as magnetic amplifier, main contactor, main transformer, reactor, control power transformer (or thyristor), relay and cooling fan. The power supply has the characteristic of a steep drop, which enables it to generate a stable plasma arc.



      Require:



      (1) It must have a steep drop external characteristic.

      (2) Must have high no-load voltage. The no-load voltage is generally around 200V.

      (3) Must have the required output power.

      (4) The output current of the power supply must have the performance of initial increase and arc extinction attenuation. When the arc starts, the inrush current is lower than 100A, and the increasing slope of the initial current is generally 50A/s ~ 100A/s.

      (5) Must have good current regulation performance. The output current supplied to the plasma arc should be able to be continuously and smoothly adjusted within a wide range to meet the technological requirements for arc power.

      (6) The output current is less affected by grid voltage and arc voltage fluctuations.
