Application of arc spraying technology to repair of large mechanical parts

       (1) Bearings used to repair hot rolls are sprayed with Cr13 coating, which is both wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. British roll factory has been applied in production



    (2) Repair of large hydraulic press plunger is also a typical example of arc spraying application. The performance of the repaired plunger with Cr13 steel wire arc spraying is often better than that of the new plunger, and the repair cost is about 1/4 of the new plunger. A 12t plunger was repaired by arc spraying in China, and the spray coating reached 300kg. After spraying, the surface of the coating is sealed.

     (3) The size of the papermaking dryer is large, with a diameter of several meters, and the cost is also high. The surface of the dryer will form scratches or pitting corrosion during use. A company in the United States was the first to use arc sprayed aluminum bronze to repair dryers, with success, and contracted dryer repairs around the world. In my country, the use of electric arc spraying aluminum bronze to repair the dryer has also achieved success. Some dryer manufacturers use arc spraying Cr13 in the manufacture of dryers and are welcomed by users.

     (4) The domestic application of arc spraying to repair engine crankshaft journals has made progress. The repair cost is low and the quality can meet the requirements of use.

     (5) The wear resistance of arc sprayed babbitt alloy is higher, not lower than that of cast babbitt alloy, and has been widely used in the repair and manufacture of bearing bushes.

     (6) The military equipment maintenance surface engineering research center has achieved success in the application of arc spraying 7Cr13 tubular wire. The technology has good prospects in boilers and chemical structural parts that are resistant to high temperature abrasion.
