       The bonding strength of arc spraying is mainly determined by;

     (1) The pressure and flow of compressed air, with the increase of compressed air pressure, increases the impact force of metal particles, thus increasing its deformation. Consequently, the bond strength of the coating is also increased. Increasing the flow of compressed air also has the same effect.

     (2) The influence of spraying distance, the increase of spraying distance will reduce the spraying speed of metal particles and increase its oxidation degree. Therefore, increasing the spray distance will reduce the bond strength.

     In the arc spraying process, after the molten metal particles are attached to the parts, the rapid cooling leads to the change of the metal structure and the increase of the hardness of the sprayed layer. For those wires that do not have quenching properties, the increase in the hardness of the coating is not only due to the effect of cooling hardening, but also partly because of oxides.
