Features and Applications
Compared with other thermal spraying methods, plasma spraying has different characteristics.
a. A wide range of spraying materials, especially refractory materials can be sprayed to prepare refractory metal, ceramic, metal-ceramic composite coatings, and other special functional coatings.
b. The coating has high bonding strength and low porosity.
c. The inert gas plasma jet has a protective atmosphere, and the hydrogenated jet has a reducing atmosphere, which avoids or reduces the oxidation of sprayed particles.
d. The process parameters can be finely controlled to prepare fine coatings.
Due to the above characteristics, it is mainly used for the preparation of high-quality corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, heat-insulating, insulating, high-temperature resistant and special functional coatings. It has been used in aerospace, petrochemical, machine city manufacturing, steel metallurgy, transportation , textile, energy, electronics and business new technologies and other fields.
Plasma Spray Coating Properties
The plasma spray coating has a fine structure, low oxide slag content and porosity, and the porosity can be controlled to 2-5%. In addition to mechanical bonding, the combination of coating and substrate and the bonding between coating particles can produce micro-area metallurgical bonding and physical bonding. The bonding strength of the coating is high, up to 6ON/mm2. The bonding strength of the coating mainly depends on the spraying material and process conditions.
