Compared with electrostatic spraying and fluidized bed coating, flame plastic powder spraying has the following advantages:

    (1) The coating thickness is large. The physical, chemical and mechanical comprehensive properties of the coating are excellent, and it is mainly used for powder coating for the purpose of preventing corrosion. The thickness is generally 0.3mm~0.5mm, or even more than 2mm, while the electrostatic spraying is generally 0.1mm~0.15mm. Flame spraying can obtain highly dense, non-porous, high bonding strength coatings with better anti-corrosion properties.

    (2) The equipment is simple, the operation is convenient, the cost is low, and no special spraying room or drying room is required. In addition to the flame spray gun, only need to supply liquefied petroleum gas (or other gas) and compressed air, then flame spray can be carried out. Flame spraying does not require heating equipment, and the preheating and coating plasticization of the steel pipe are completed by the spray gun itself. When all gas cylinders are used, flame spraying can be carried out without electricity. Its process operation can be mastered with only short training.

    (3) Less investment in equipment, high production efficiency and low cost. The spraying efficiency reaches: 7m3/h when LPG is used as fuel gas, and 15m3/h when propane gas is used as fuel gas.

    (4) There are a wide range of coating materials suitable for spraying, including thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics, such as polyethylene, nylon, polypropylene, EVA, polyphenylene sulfide, epoxy resin, epoxy/polyester, etc.

    (5) The flame spraying equipment is light and easy to carry, and can be easily carried out on-site construction. The spraying is not limited by the size and shape of the workpiece, and various coating defects can be repaired. The process is flexible and easy to master. It can be constructed under 100% relative temperature, low temperature and other environmental conditions.

    (6) Strong adaptability and wide use. Both straight pipes and curved pipes can be sprayed. The pipes to be sprayed can be steel and other metals, and can also be coated with concrete. Powder coating does not contain solvent, no drying and curing time is required after spraying, and it can be used immediately after spraying. The coating can be repaired, and the small defects can be repaired by heating the surface, and the large defects can be re-sprayed.

     (7) It is convenient to change the color and variety of plastic powder.

The disadvantage of flame spraying is that the degree of automation is low, and the inner wall of the pipe with a diameter of less than 80mm cannot be sprayed, and the appearance of the coating is not as good as that of electrostatic spraying.
