With the continuous development of spraying technology, the varieties of powder materials are also constantly enriched. According to their components, the powders mainly include the following types;
(1) Pure metal powder; such as pure aluminum powder, pure copper powder.
(2) Alloy powder: including self-fluxing alloy powder for spray welding and alloy powder for spraying.
(3) Composite powder: such as nickel-coated aluminum powder, aluminum-coated nickel powder.
(4) Mixed powder: a mixture of two or more powders.
(5) Cermet powder: cobalt-tungsten carbide, nickel-chromium-chromium carbide.
(6) Non-metallic powder: such as plastic powder, nylon powder.
The most commonly used powders for oxyacetylene flame spraying are alloy powders and composite powders, usually including working layer powders (iron-based, nickel-based, copper-based spray powders), primer powders (nickel-aluminum composite powders), and self-adhesive one-time spray composite powders.
