The principle of oxy-acetylene flame metal powder spray melting is to use oxy-acetylene flame as the heat source to spray the self-fluxing alloy powder on the surface of the pretreated workpiece. When the workpiece does not melt, the coating is heated to melt it. And wetting the workpiece, through the mutual dissolution and diffusion of the liquid alloy and the surface of the solid workpiece, a surface cladding layer with metallurgical bonding and special properties is formed.

Melting includes two processes: one is the spraying process; the other is the remelting process. The purpose of the remelting process is to obtain a cladding layer with no pores, no oxides, and high bonding strength with the surface of the workpiece. To achieve this goal, the following two conditions must be met: the molten coating can wet the surface of the workpiece, that is, the liquid alloy must be able to spread freely on the surface of the solid workpiece, neither flowing nor condensing into a spherical shape; the liquid alloy moistening After wetting the workpiece, it must be able to play a proper physicochemical action with the workpiece surface, forming a strong bond with the workpiece surface when the molten alloy cools, rather than sticking to the workpiece surface.
