Since its inception, the explosive sprayed coating has been widely used in parts of aviation products due to its high bonding strength, high hardness and good wear resistance, such as high and low pressure compressor blades, turbine blades, and wheel casing sealing grooves. , gear shaft, outer wall of flame cylinder, bushing aileron, flap slide rail, braking device, etc. There are more than 80 parts using oxyacetylene flame explosion spraying technology on JT3D engine alone.

In recent years, explosive spraying has been widely used in steel, energy and automobile industries, mainly for preparing workpieces with high coating quality requirements.

Explosive spray powder materials can be: single metal, alloy, single oxide and mixed oxide, cemented carbide, cermet with carbide and tungsten carbide matrix, and various composite materials. In production, appropriate coating materials can be selected according to actual needs, so that the surface of the workpiece has specific properties, such as: wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, impact load resistance, electrical conductivity, insulation, friction reduction, etc. For example, spraying the wear-resistant coating with explosive spraying on the wear surface of the poor material parts can make the parts wear-resistant and prolong their service life several times to dozens of times. It has been reported that after explosive spraying a layer of WC coating with a thickness of 0.25mm on the intermediate damping table of the primary and secondary titanium alloy fan blades of the aero-engine, its service life can be extended from 100h to more than 1000h; After spraying a layer of WC coating with a thickness of 0.12 mm on the ring, the life of the part was extended from 4000h to more than 28000h.

Explosive spraying is currently mainly used in the wear-resistant strengthening of various mechanical seals, shafts, rollers, rods, etc.; various workpieces requiring strong wear-resistant surfaces, such as paper cutting blades, guide plates, machine tool sliding plates, etc. ; Various workpieces that require wear-resistant and erosion-resistant surfaces, such as: fan impellers, steam turbine blades: various workpieces that require wear-resistant and anti-friction surfaces, such as: wire passing wheels, deflectors, and wire drawing machine drums of textile machinery.
