The nickel-coated alumina (Ni/Al2O3) composite powder uses α-Al2O3 particles as the core and Ni as the cladding layer. The formed coating has a high bonding strength with the base metal, and the coating is dense. Application examples are blast furnace tuyere, slag mouth spraying Al2O3 as an intermediate transition coating for high temperature wear and corrosion resistant coatings.
Coatings can be prepared by gas-stabilized plasma spraying, explosive spraying, supersonic flame spraying and powder flame spraying (accelerated with compressed air).
