Alumina-titanium oxide (Al2O3-TiO2) composite powder is a combination of a certain proportion of TiO2 powder and Al2O3 powder, including Al2O3-3%TiO2, Al2O3-13%TiO2, Al2O3-20%TiO2, Al2O3-40%TiO2 and Al2O3 There are several varieties of -50% TiO2, and the melting point is around 2000 °C.
The melting point of TiO2 is lower than that of Al2O3, and the Mohs hardness value is lower than that of Al2O3. The wettability of molten TiO2 to steel, titanium, aluminum and other metal substrates is better than that of molten Al2O3, so it has better bonding properties.
1) As the content of TiO2 in the Al2O3-TiO2 composite powder increases, the porosity of the sprayed layer decreases and the density increases.
2) The addition of TiO2 components helps to improve the bonding strength of the sprayed Al2O3 coating and the base material, and improves the cohesion strength between the Al2O3 particles in the coating, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the coating. Therefore, the alumina coating containing TiO2 has better toughness and higher impact load strength than pure alumina coating.
3) The TiO2 coating has semiconducting properties due to the reduction effect of TiO2 in the high temperature jet of plasma spraying. In the Al2O3-TiO composite powder, the Al2O3-TiO2 coating exhibits semiconducting properties when the TiO2 content exceeds 20%.
4) The Al2O3-TiO2 composite powder coating containing more than 13% TiO2 has a black surface, which is different from the pure Al2O3 coating with low thermal emissivity and shows high thermal emissivity characteristics.
5) Due to the TiO2 component, the sprayed Al2O3-TiO2 coating shows a uniform and fine surface morphology, with a strong orange peel. A little polishing treatment can obtain ideal fiber abrasion resistance.
The sprayed Al2O3-TiO2 coating is ground, finely ground, ground and polished, and the surface roughness can reach a mirror surface.
