       The selection of thermal spraying process is basically based on the following rules:

     (1) If the requirements of the coating adhesion are not very high, and the melting point of the spraying material used does not exceed 2500 degrees Celsius, the flame spraying with simple equipment and low cost can be used.

     (2) Plasma spraying should be used for parts with higher coating performance requirements or some more expensive parts. Because the melting point of the plasma sprayed material is not limited, the heat source is non-oxidizing, and the coating has high bonding strength and low porosity.

     (3) Arc should be used for metal spraying construction with a large amount of work.

     (4) For metal or alloy coatings requiring high bonding force and low porosity, supersonic plasma spraying or supersonic flame spraying can be used.

     (5) For large batches of workpieces, automatic spraying should be used. The automatic spraying machine can be purchased as a set or designed by yourself. When choosing a process method, the machinability of the spray coating should also be considered, whether it can be machined according to the size and shape of the part, which machining method to use, and the processing cost.
