The coating can withstand the wear caused by repeated sliding, rolling or impact on a track. This repeated cutting and unloading creates cyclic stresses that induce surface or subsurface cracks. Eventually these cracks cause surface pits and large pieces to fall off. Its characteristics and application characteristics are:
(1) Under the action of periodic load;
(2) No wear or adhesive wear;
(3) Brittle coatings should be avoided, and coatings with good toughness should be selected;
(4) Fatigue damage-resistant coatings are applied to workpieces such as turbine airtight rings, turbine airtight rings, piston rings (internal combustion engines), and cylinder liners.
