Cemented carbide sheets are alloys with one or more refractory carbide (tungsten carbide, titanium carbide, etc.) powders as the main component, and metal powders (cobalt, nickel, etc.) are added as binders. It is mainly used to manufacture high-speed cutting tools and cutting tools for hard and tough materials, as well as cold work dies, measuring tools and high wear-resistant parts that are not affected by shock and vibration.

Cemented carbide sheet has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, good strength and toughness, heat resistance and corrosion resistance, especially its high hardness and wear resistance, which remain basically unchanged even at a temperature of 500 °C. Still 1000 ℃ hardness is high. Carbide sheets are widely used as tool materials, such as turning tools, milling cutters, planers, drills, boring tools, etc., for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, chemical fibers, graphite, glass, stone and ordinary steel, and can also be used for cutting Difficult-to-machine materials such as heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, tool steel, etc. The cutting speed of new carbide tools is now hundreds of times that of carbon steel.

The use of cemented carbide sheet

⑴ Tool material

There are many tool materials for carbide plates, which can be used to make turning tools, milling cutters, planers, drills, etc. Among them, tungsten-cobalt carbide is suitable for processing short ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Machining of chips and non-metallic materials, such as cast iron, cast brass, bakelite, etc.; Tungsten-titanium-cobalt carbide is suitable for steel and other ferrous metals. Among similar alloys, those with more cobalt content are suitable for roughing, and those with less cobalt content are suitable for finishing. General-purpose cemented carbides for difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steel have a much longer machining life than other cemented carbides.

⑵Mold material

Cemented carbide sheets are mainly used as cold drawing dies, cold punching dies, cold extrusion dies, cold forging dies and other cold working dies.

⑶ Measuring tools and wear parts

Carbide sheets are also used for wear-resistant parts, such as wear-resistant surface inserts and measuring tool parts, bearings for grinding machines, guide plates and rods for centerless grinding machines, and tops of lathes.
