Financial Associated Press, April 25th, according to the Russian Satellite News Agency, a team of scientists from the Russian National Research Technical University MISIS (NUST MISIS), the Institute of Superhard and New Carbon Materials, and the Institute of Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has patented a synthetic method based on Scandium-containing carbon nanostructured superhard materials. Using this method, new superhard materials suitable for photovoltaics, optical devices, nanoelectronics and biomedicine can be developed. The findings were published in the international carbon materials journal CARBON.
